Common Type of Network

In this section, you’ll explore various types of networks and their characteristics. We’ll cover common network types such as small home networks, which connect personal devices within a household, and small office/home office networks, designed for business and personal use. You’ll learn about Local Area Networks (LANs), which link devices within a limited area, and Wide Area Networks (WANs), which span large geographic regions. Additionally, we’ll explain the Internet, a global network of interconnected networks; Intranets, private networks within an organization; and Extranets, which extend Intranet access to external partners. By the end, you’ll understand the differences and uses of each network type at a basic level.
